About Laura
A Therapist Who Teaches Families the Tools
Laura O'Brien, OTR/L brings more than thirty years of pediatric occupational therapy experience to families who want both skilled treatment and practical guidance they can carry into home, school, and everyday life.
Laura works with families who want to understand what is happening, why it matters, and what they can do between sessions to support lasting progress. Her background spans clinical and school-based therapy, giving her a practical view of how regulation, motor skills, self-care, and participation show up across the settings that shape a child's day.
Her work draws on sensory integration, yoga for the special child, mindfulness, brain training, fitness, and wellness. Laura aims to build therapeutic environments that support each client's strengths while helping families work through challenges with clarity and steadiness.
Laura has experience supporting autism, Asperger syndrome, social-emotional needs, and the developmental demands that affect school participation, self-help skills, regulation, and confidence. The current site content keeps these concepts visible while broader language decisions remain under review.
